School Business Manager (Full Time, Term Time Only plus 2 weeks)

We are looking to appoint a highly organised, flexible and adaptable School Business Manager to join the Martenscroft Nursery School and Children's Centre Senior Leadership Team.

This post will play a pivotal role in the strategic management of staff, resources and premises tofacilitate the child and family centred work of our school.

You will have

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to relate well and communicate with our children, families, staff and partners.
  • Experience of managing budgets, financial reporting and maintaining systems of controls. The role will also involve the monitoring of family accounts for day care provision to ensure that families do not fall into arrears.
  • Considerable experience working at a senior level; including the management of staff, HR policies and payroll procedures.

Hours of work:

This is a full time (35 hours) Term Time Only plus 2 weeks position.  The nursery school is open for children between 7:45 and 17:45 and part of the role will be to manage an effective reception rota, filling gaps where required.  Occasional evening working will be required, with governing body dates set in advance for which Time off in Lieu will be given.

Teaching Assistants (2 x Full time All Year Round plus 1 x Part Time Term Time only)

We are seeking to appoint three Level 2 (Grade 3) Teaching Assistants to Martenscroft Nursery School.

2 x Full Time AYR / 1 x Part Time - Term Time Only

The Martenscroft Team incorporates early years childcare, nursery class and the operation of the Hulme, Moss Side and Rusholme Children's Centres. These posts will initially be seconded to support the Children's Centres, however flexibility to work across all areas of work and all sites is required.

Our Children's Centre Team run a variety of outreach support, activities and programmes to support families in our communities. These include sessions such as Play and Stay, Storytimes and sessions in partnership with the local midwifery team for example.

For these roles we are looking for someone who has

  • enthusiasm, energy and commitment to high quality early years education
  • postivity about working in partnership with families in our diverse and multilingual community
  • the ability to relate and communicate well with our children, families, staff and partners.
  • excellent team working skills to ensure effective service delivery for our families
  • the motivation and confidence to work independently with groups across a multi-site service

Hours of work: Full Time Posts

The postholder will be required to work on a rota basis; ensuring coverage of services between the hours of 7:45am and 5:45pm. The post is for 35 hours per week and will be based across the Martenscoft Group sites.

The full time posts are All Year Round posts. You will receive an annual leave allocation of 25 days (rising to 30 days after 5 years service). Martenscroft has a August closure week and closures between Christmas and New Year where some annual leave is required to be taken. The remaining balance of annual leave is booked and taken by mutual agreement.

Hours of work: PartTime Posts

This post is for 20 hours per week and will be based across the Martenscoft Group sites. This is a term time only post.
